Sarah offers private violin tuition to players of all ages and abilitites from very young children to advanced players, other violin teachers or those working towards an audition or particular performance. Sarah is a very experienced professional violinist and a welcoming and enthusiastic teacher, her lessons are fun and carefully planned.
Sarah has over twenty five years experience teaching violin and music theory one to one. She enjoys passing on her knowledge and is extremely passionate about attention to detail when coaching beginners as a solid technical and rhythmic foundation is the key to future enjoyment as a violinist.
As well as the technical and expressive elements of playing violin, Sarah also has a wealth of experience to share of working professionaly as a violinist in a wide variety of situations from classical orchestras to contemporary recordings and performances.
Students have the option of working through their ABRSM, Trinity etc exams and Sarah has taught many pupils who have worked through to grade 8 distinction.
Sarah has taught violin at a number of independent schools including spending fifteen years at Denstone College, Staffordshire. As a member of Manchester Camerata she has also coached violin sections of many County Youth Orchestras.
Previous pupils have become members of the Junior Halle Orchestra, Junior RNCM, County Youth Orchestras and gone on to study music at University.
Sarah's one to one violin and music theory tuition from her home in North Staffordshire runs alongside her education work around the UK for Manchester Camerata and In Harmony / Sistema England where she teaches whole classes of violinists.
